    tail shaking

    can anyone tell me why my python shakes his tail sometimes (just like a rattle snake )

    The only time I've ever seen my snakes tail do anything is when they go to the bathroom. Tail goes up and poop comes out, sometimes shakes a little.

    Can't say I've ever seen any of our BP's shake their tail other than like Spaniard said when they curl it up to pass waste products.

    I have never seen a ball python 'tail shake'......but if you have a kingsnake that shakes it tail, that is another story

    Yea I'm with Daniel I have seen colobrids do it but not pythons. Maybe hes got a twitch. LOL

    Yep. Colubrids have tail rattling down to a fine art. Never seen either of my BPs do that, but have seen our Boa Constrictor do it once - he thought we were going to take back the juicy rat we'd just given him - and he wasn't going to share it

    Joanna's Ailish did the rattlesnake tail shake when I first got her as a baby. Right before she struck at the camera. I interpreted it the same as a rattlesnake - you're starting to really tick me off - will you please leave now?
