    Angry Mites!

    Alright so since gonzo was baithing so much i knew something had to be going on. i took him out for na little handling session and i cant find any mites on him, however, they are floating in his water bowl after he soaks. i got some mite spray from the pet store and used that. any other suggestions? thanks for the help

    What kind of mite spray did you get? If it's Provent-a-mite, you should be okay. If it's a topical spray, make sure you clean the cage out completely along with all of the cage "furniture". A bleach solution will kill the eggs, but make sure you rinse it well.

    Good luck! There should be a thread or two on this, about how to get rid of them. I think Provent-a-Mite works because it kills the eggs too, thus breaking the life cycle. I never had to use it, but I've heard it works great, just make sure you clean the cage, like xdeus said.

    You might not be able to see them cause they can hide under the scales. And they a clean all the cage furnature and get rid of the substrate and clean the cage GOOD. then start fresh. Good luck.
