i THINK my BP is shedding?

I took out Medusa from her enclosure today to clean out her substrate and I noticed her eyes seemed a little cloudy. So.. possibly sign that she might start shedding correct? Anyways, my question is... I hear all you guys talking about humidity lately... and is that important in the shedding process for my BP? I don't use anything for humidity right now... I was told from the girl I got her from that I didn't need to? Is this not true? I think she said to spray her from time to time, but I don't remember exactly when I'm supposed to do it. Is it during her shed I'm supposed to spray her? Also! How often do BP's shed? mine is about 2 months old now. Thanks!

Re: i THINK my BP is shedding?

Well, yes, it is going to shed.

The humidity should be around 60-70 % now. All you need, is to empty a windex and clean out the bottle really good. Then fill it with water and spray it every time it gets low/daily.

EDIT: Spray the tank even after the shed too, because it can lead to some infections.

Re: i THINK my BP is shedding?

actually, yes, i did read that shedding process post already! but it didn't have some of the answers to my questions. like, how often do BP's shed? once a month? twice a month?

and i didn't read anything on humidity and spraying? if there was, can you point it out to me please? thanks!

you need a good digital thermometer/hygrometer to measure temps and humidiy. if you dont have one then get one.

how often they shed depends on how often they eat really. they shed more often when they're young (every month or so usually) and once they're older they less often (one and half to two months usually).

Re: i THINK my BP is shedding?

yea when they shed their eyes get a light blue cloudy color for a couple days then they go back to almost normal when they shed. its good to keep their humidity in the 70 percent range while shedding because it helps to loosen the old skin. if you cant keep your humidity up there it also works to soak your bp in a shallow container of water for a half an hour to an hour a day until they shed.

My snake is shedding too. I picked up his enclosure today and he tried to look at me with his little blue eyes and flicked his tounge a lot.
