    retained shed?

After my ball python's first shed with me(about two months ago), he seem to have a line of retained or dried scales along his backbone. I tried soaking a few times but it didn't seemed to help. I figured i could leave it and it would come off with the next shed.

He just shed again today, the dried scales are gone. However, it is replaced with a line of milky white scales. Have anyone experienced this?
Please give me feedback on what you think this is. Btw, I'll try to post pics of it as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jonathan
