There's a snake in my tub!

Many of you know the story of my long term rescue project, Sasha the BRB. I have had him for almost 2 years now since I picked him up from a local reptile store. He had been dropped off there by his previous owner after being starved for nearly a year and left without water for a long time as well. He has gained weight slowly for me over the 2 years but he has also been sick for a lot of the time. He is in permanent quarantine and has been tested and treated for everything possible (never any sign of parasites or any other disease). He had a blood test last week and elevated kidney function seems to confirm what multiple experts believe, which is some sort of kidney disease. I have begun soaking him nightly on their recommendation and I am going to scale back on prey size for now as the added protein can cause issues. I am not sure if he will ever recover and live normally but I can say he is strong and one of the tamest, sweetest snakes I have ever been around considering what he has been through. Anyway...Here is a picture of him enjoying his 20 minute bath today. If I had known he would like it so much, I would have been doing it all along!

Thanks bro..Its been a long road. Still might have an unhappy ending but I'm doing what I can. I've spent close to $1000 in vet bills.

As far as the tub, that is my girl's doing. She takes baths, I shower. I couldn't care less if there was a foot of sludge in the bottom of the tub

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis Jamie. You did a great job rescuing that snake and I'm sure if he could talk he would express his gratitude to you.
