i was just thinking with a snake that girth it would be eating BIG rats or bunnies but i can easily undertsand them bein obese i'v read they have very slow metabolisms

Nope...

Ignore the "girth rule"...ignore the puppy dog stares...ignore the rush of wind as an open-mouth feeding strike flies past your face.

They DO NOT need giant meals. They THRIVE on smaller meals as adults. Make them big fat slugs & they'll act like big fat slugs...wait till one takes a big fat slug dump on your lap while it's watching TV with you.

This is all stuff I've learned the hard way.

Well, never say never, but learning from mistakes is a LOT better than repeating the same ones time & again.

Reptile keeping is a learning process from beginning to end. Anyone who tells you they know everything at some point or another...well...find another source of info. If there's nothing left to learn, one can never improve.
