    herping at our property

    we went to our 22 acres in northern california to go herpin and we saw a california toad and an unidentified rattlesnake. i think its a western rattlesnake or a western massasauga. can anyone identify it for me?

    the california toad that my sister Courtney (or reptile-girl) found. please excuse the helmet hear, we were riding dirtbikes all day.

    can you find te toad? its not that hard, lol.

    i actually did see a fence lizard but i didnt think to get a shot of it.

    BTW, i did actually get bit by a baby rattler about a month and a half ago. i was holding him behind his head and my grip was too loose. he hooked around and got me with one fang at the tip of my middle finger. im not EVER holding a rattlesnake (atleast until im a 'real' herpetologist ).
