    When to Feed

I thought I heard somewhere that I should wait until the snake poops to feed him. Is that true? Can I just keep him on a regular schedule (once per week), whether or not he has gone or not?

No need to wait for the poop - a weekly schedule is just fine.

Definitely DO NOT wait for your ball python to poop before feeding. Ball pythons have a much slower metabolism than say a colubrid(i.e kingsnake or cornsnake), and may go two or three weeks before pooping. If you waited until he/she pooped, you stand a good chance of underfeeding your baby. As smulkin said, a 7 day feeding schedule is very appropriate, assuming you are properly sizing the meals.

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
