I'm am so tired of fluctuating temps!!!

Alright, i have finally decided to get a rubbermaid because the temps in my 20 gal. just keep fluctuating even with a thermostat. It is a Ranco so it turns on and off. And I also cant get the cool side to stay at the right temps. Ok, now for my questions, I think a sterilite 1956 tub would be perfect for her right now beacuse my bp is only a bit longer than 2 ft. And once she outgrew it I could use it for my corn, because she would be big enough by then. http://www.sterilite.com/Category.ht...uctCategory=39#
Or do you guys think I should just invest in the 1960 that will last her forever and just add extra stuff to make her feel secure enough? Also, if I did get the 1960, how much flexwatt would I need? I already have 1 ft. Thanks everybody!
If you need to know anything else just ask!

Might sound like a little much but I would just get a thermostat. $70 and you can keep multiple cages in a rack system at the right temps as long as their the same size. Just a thought

I already have a thermostat, a Ranco, but because it is an on/off t-stat, the temps fluctuate at about 5 degrees. The hot side goes from 88-93, cool side is either too hot or too cold. That is why I want a tub. And I dont have enough money to get a proportional t-stat.

the ranco will do fine. probe placement is critical. either tub will do fine, i'm partial to smaller tubs for smaller snakes. the tubs don't cost much to upgrade sizes. 1 ft. of 11" heat tape should heat either tub. then you have to experiment with how many holes to get the humidity right.

I'm using the 40 quart 1986 model. I like it because it has snapping locks. Although 1984 might be better for smaller snakes, even though it is a bit tall:

I have my 200+ gram females in there and even a 1600 gram female in one.
The smaller girls have 3 hides, the large girl has a small kitty litter pan that is big enough that she sort of thermoregulates herself inside of it, yet still feels secure because it's so dark in there.

I'm using a Ranco thermostat and 1 foot of 11" flexwatt for each tub.

I can vouch for the 1986 models too, they work great and have just enough room for a few hides and a water bowl. I have a 550g female in one and a 1250g female in one. Both are quite happy and eat to their heart's content.

The tubs rock! I am using both the 1986 and 1960's all are on one t-stat. Very easy to control and doesn't break the bank to purchase!
