Salem Ornamental (Formosa)
I have a Formosa and I've heard abit about the toxicity of their venom. The question i'd like to ask is, what would happen if bitten?

Re: Salem Ornamental (Formosa)
From what I've heard the venom can cause seizures. Far as I know no one has ever died from tarantula bite, but I'd rather not mess with any of the pokies!

Re: Salem Ornamental (Formosa)
few people are bitten but if they are... they have some muscle pain and it can be pretty severe... of course, that's an adult not a sling.

Re: Salem Ornamental (Formosa)
Arachnoboards has a "bite report" forum - though offhand I am not sure if that one is listed - but I am with Shelby on that one - definitely an "ornamental" in the purest sense of the word.

Re: Salem Ornamental (Formosa)
It's supposed to be a very painful bite, with quite a bit of swelling, at the least.
Generally speaking, pokies are one of the genuses, if bitten, you could end up with a hospital visit.
