    water tub ???????????

do you have to have a water tub big enugh for your boa to fit in. or just a drinking bowl. mine has one more than big enaugh for him to fit in. but if it is not needed i will just give him extra space.

They don't need to be able to soak. The only snakes that I have that 'need' to soak are the anacondas. Just make sure the bowl is big and heavy enough that the boa can't tip it over easily! Flooded cages are not fun to clean..

No problem. It still may be beneficial to let your boa soak during shedding time.

    Yes, most definitely..

Ophelia my big BCC girl once flooded her cage twice in one night. I got a different kind of water bowl after that.. hasn't happened again!

    Re: water tub

Rauri did that early this morning. Not only flipping his water container (and it's the heaviest one I could find) but then dropped a big urate in the mess just for fun! Boa's!!! Hard to find something he can't tip over, root under, flip over, whatever when you are dealing with a snake of his strength.

    Re: water tub

They don't need to soaking tub in their enclosures, but do enjoy it from time to time.

I would remove the huge tub, I simply provide my adult boas water in a 11qt sterilite tub filled about 1/2 way.

At 1/2 way it's too heavy to tip, at least none of them have in many months!

Humidity is not a problem for me since I live in FL, but either way I may mist the enclosure a bit once a day during shed periods.

I may also let them soak in large rubber maid tubs or a kiddie pool once or twice a year, just for the fun of it.
