Anyone have plans for a juvie BP rack?

So what I am looking to do is put together a quick melamine rack to house Balls from around 200 grams to around 600-700 gms (until they are ready to move to the Cb70s. I would like to use precut pieces since I dont have a saw to make cuts but could also get them to cut for me at the store. All I have is a screwdriver and drill.

Something similar to http://arbreptiles.com/cages/rack.shtml (which I am going to use most likely for hatchlings.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jamie

Re: Anyone have plans for a juvie BP rack?

I found that website that you linked to last night and I am actually going to attempt to build that exact rack this weekend!!

I need a 20 hole shoebox rack for hatchlings
the only difference is that I am going to use 3/4" plywood, instead of melamine. ( I find it easier to work with)

I know you are in northern NJ, if you want to borrow my circular saw...p.m. me and let me know!!

Thanks man. Truth is, if I use a saw I will either screw up the cuts or bring it back minus a finger or two. I am better off just having home depot do it for me. Where in Northern Jersey are you again? I will prob build the hatchling rack sometime in the summer.

Re: Anyone have plans for a juvie BP rack?

    Jamie,

I do not have plans for this rack, but if you just look at the picture, it is fairly self explanatory. This rack holds 40 babies, but can be built to hald as many levels as you want. I will be building another one this year that holds 60 of those tubs. I'll take pics of my new one once it is built(should be in June sometime). The tubs I used are 6 quart Iris tubs. You can order them from Office Depot's web site. I believe they actually call them 1 1/2 gallon tubs, but they come in a 4 pack for $7. I raise my babies in them until they hit about 500 grams, and then move them into a CB-70 rack. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. I am offshore right now, but when I get home, I could take some other pics of something in particular if you need them. It really is simple to assemble, and I only used two sheets of melamine to build this rack. The only suggestion that I have is to use 5/8" melamine if you can find it. It does exist, it is just a bit harder to find, but it will shave some weight off of that beast.

    Happy Building,

Looks good Tim, but I think you underestimate my ability to screw up any project. Without plans I might glue my hands to my ***. (I will prob do that regardless). Thanks for the pics!!
