That darned site got me thinkin'...

I was reading that Snakebabe site; and it got me thinking. About breeding. I want to breed my female BP more than anything, but I am just wondering where the offspring would go? I know that many, many people are out there breedin' away with their BPs (and other animals.. don't get me started on horse breeding...)
I guess basically, I am looking for opinions here; are you breeding your BPs or not, and why? I am still undecided, although I would love to see if Bela's spotlessness is genetic. I know that none of my snakes are thousand-dollar-morph material, but I do have the urge to see what they'd produce. So any thoughts?

I'd say if you are excited about it and want to take a shot, than do it! What do you have to lose? You will be able to sell the babies even if they are just good old normals.

if you want to do it, then go for it. it's fun! if this is "bella" we're talking about, a pastel male or any other morph will do good with her. pastel males are becoming more affordable or a het albino/pied male would be a good choice too.

ps that site got me thinking about breeding too

Can't wait myself , it's also the challenge for me. Like I said can't wait whether it be my norm's or my het's for albino doesn't matter. I'm going to hurry up the process and purchase my female.

Well if you think of it this way Gin if you decide to breed Bella (who is a gorgeous BP as far as I'm concerned) and you don't want to keep any of her offspring there is always seems to be a market for healthy, well started BP's from a reputable source. The females will be snatched up quick as you can post them I bet and though the males may take a bit longer (assuming they are all normals) it isn't like they cost a bomb to feed while you wait for the right person to come along - not like you'll have 100 of them lol.

I personally know of at least 3 young adults that want normal male BP's for pet snakes after having spent some time around ours. I've asked them to do their research first and really be sure, then get their setups and make their decisions on which breeder to go with.

I can't wait to breed Bela. I was thinking of using LaVey, he has a slightly more reduced pattern than Gobby; but I would die to get a pastel male that has a reduced pattern too. Anyone want to donate money to the Jen Wants A Pastel fund? lol.. my boyfriend started a business; I wonder if a BP could be written off as a tax break for.. um.. a home remodeling biz? Sure; I am buying it to help measure drywall, Yeahh!
