Got my hands on a fence lizard today....

So I snapped a few closeup pics, so you all can really see what great color these guys have...even without the blue







hey marshall....since it was kinda cloudy today, I noticed that alot of the fence lizards looked darker. They probably get darker to help them absorb sunlight to warmup like some other lizards. What were the conditions like when you were seeing the really dark ones?

sometimes i even see dark ones when it bright and sunny outside. yesterday i went herpin at our property and saw a dark red one. not just red on the eyes, etc. but dark red all over, it was pretty cool. i also caught a 10 inch gilberts skink under a piece of plywood. those are some awesome lizards too.
