Re: What of Tegu is this???

It's an adorable Columbian b/w tegu (still a baby), and definitely not an Argentinian tegu. It looks exactly like my columbian Spaz, except its facial scales are lighter. Argetinian tegus have a white line that runs down both sides of their body starting behind the ear. How far down it goes depends on its markings. They also have two loreal scales between thier nostrils and their eyes. Columbians only have one loreal scale and they don't have the line they have dot's that sometimes run along the sides of their body that you can follow in a straight line down to their tale.
Columbians are known for being more aggresive / skiddish but some do calm down with time and of course daily handling. They're like a box of chocolates.....you never know what you're gonna get .

As Cannibal said before check out The Tegu.com that site will tell you everything you need to know.

By the way, if your friend decides she doesn't want to keep the lil cutie, let me know and I'll take her. I'm sure Spaz wouldn't mind a buddy of her own kind. Until now I haven't seen another columbian that I thought was as cute as mine.

    It's a Tupinambis teguixin (Colombian).

Here is a simplified visual aid...

I love him ... so cute. I dont know anything about Tegus, (want one cant afford one) but the temper should subside with handling (sp? I have to learn to spell) I had a 6.5 foot male igg that was a Monster! he now lives with a family that has 3 kids and is puppy tame. but that was with 5 years of work. I love lizards

It is chalenges like that that I love!

Yes, If you get an argentine black & white tegu and you handle it every day and as much as you can (of course while giving it time to eat, bask, sleep, etc) you will be very likely to have calm pet tegu that you can train and play with.
