    Getting one more anaconda

    I love these things.

Anyway, the sire of my granite yellow anaconda is up for sale, and I am going to buy him within the next 4-6 weeks depending on how the old paycheck goes. By that time I'll have another 6' boaphile cage so that'll free up a 4' cage for this guy.

This anaconda is HOT. Lemon yellow and jet black. He's around 6' long. I've had a heck of a time finding any granite yellows, and I figure I'll snap him up while I can. I can breed him to one yellow female, and his son (Lurch) to an unrelated female yellow, and then breed hets from the different litters to produce my own granites. (see I have it all figured out)

Anyway I just thought I'd share. I never thought I'd be an anaconda person..

After this one I'm not planning on adding any more snakes to the collection for a few months.

    No, really! I mean it!

Really though.. I have a 6 month budget planned out. The anconda is figured in there, but no other snakes are. I will definitely be going to the October NARBC show though.. and I'm sure I'll get some stuff there.

After this snake I'll focus on getting everyone in racks/boaphiles because I just hate fussing with tubs. When you have more than 20 snakes, you don't want to mess with clips on the lids and all that fun stuff.

I saw a sweet pair of Yellow Anacondas last weekend... Neither were too friendly, the female actually tagged the guy who tried to pick them up.

    Very pretty snakes.

Both of my annies have tagged me. They are nervous babies and take awhile to settle in. They're not vicious, just scared.

    Re: Getting one more anaconda

Shelby I love you! lol just kidding. I'm glad you're getting more into Anacondas, just be sure to post pics for me! I was wondering...I know the growth rate that you showed me of your green annie but...how big would a yellow anaconda get? And are they less tempermental than greens? I want one soooo bad. And I talked to the landlord of the apartment I'm getting for college in the fall and he said all of my snakes are fine, including an anaconda as long as it was secured. I figured I could start out with a male yellow?

Hehe I read a thread from a while back where you said "Someday I'd like to get an anaconda..maybe" it's just funny to see that you have one and are getting more! Congrats!
