    Question Boa not hiding

We've provided hiding spots for our RTB but he refuses to use them. The temperature and humidity are all correct. The hides are both reptile caves of adequate size. Should I try maybe a half log or is this normal behavior for a RTB?

    Re: Boa not hiding

i dont own a RTB but usually when i go to serpentariums, etc. and they have an RTB that has hides in its cage it is usually out of the hides.

are they nice and snug for him? i know you said adequatley sized and just want to know what you meant by that.

    Re: Boa not hiding

By adequately sized I mean nice and snug for him to fit in, but not so small to where he wouldn't be able to fit. I've personally witnessed him go in his cool hide twice since we purchased him around four weeks ago. He seems to prefer to lay on top of them as opposed to actually go inside them.

My boa spends alot of time out of his hides out in the open.

Yep same here. Rauri will use a hide but doesn't seem all that overly impressed with them. He spends a fair bit of time out of his hide some days and other days he's in there a lot.

That's good to hear. I thought there was something wrong with him. We've had him for a month now and he's only been in there twice. The first time it was a quick 'see whats in there' thing. The second he actually slept in there.
