24 Species of Pythons exist????

I was kinda bored today at work and started reading about how the Burmese Python is invading the Everglades in Florida! I really interesting article if you'd like to read it! " http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...vespecies.html"

Anyway at the end of the article is says that, and i quote" U.S. residents, for example, can legally own 22 of the 24 pythons found around the world."

My question is what 2 species of pythons can we not own??? and WHY??
and if anyone can give me a list of all the 26 pythons that would be cool too!?!?!?

Oenpelli pythons (Morelia oenpelliensis) & rough-scaled pythons (Morelia carinata), both very rare Australian python species. The only legal specimens to leave Australia are in zoos & not available to the private sector.

P.S. There are more than 30 species of pythons...and that doesn't even scratch the surface of subspecies!
