This is Crazy
I copied this story off a computer at school. Look closely at what it eats.
The Indian Python is a very long snake, closely related to the anaconda. It can grow up to 21 feet long, and can live 20-40 years. It can weigh 300lbs and its entire body is lined with ribs.
The indian python or Python Mulorus has very unique hunting skills. because it eats 120lbs of food, it only eats once a month. it can only swallow 120lbs because its jaw is actually two bones.
To get food the indian python hides using its camouflage on the jungle florr waiting for an animal. when one is detected it pounces on the victim, wraps coils around it and constricts it cutting off air and blood circulation. it hunts birds, antelope, mice, porcupines, and even crocodiles.
The indian python lives from china to india and the eastern islands. its color differs depending on the area. it can not live far from water and is semi-aquatic.
the indian python is endangered because of massive habit loss and it is killed for its beautiful scales and its meat for food.
but there is still hope, asia has made it illegal to kill indian pythons and people have made snake sanctuaries for them to reproduce. the indian python can lay from 6-100 eggs at a time that look and feel leathery.
there is more but is not info on the python itself.
does anyone else find some of this info crazy and incorrect?
please tell me what you think
remember, i copied this from a computer at school, I DID NOT write this!

Re: This is Crazy
heh it sounds weird to me too, but unfortunately I don't think I know enough to say "oh this is definately wrong"...the one thing that struck me as most odd was the fact that the author seemed to be saying that it always eats 120lbs period. But in the following paragrah they say that it eats mice and porcupines (how!?), which OBVIOUSLY don't weigh 120lbs (that'd be a LOT of mice). And, really, I don't think they can call its hunting skills "unique"...that's just my opinion though, I'm kind of just trying to apply my general knowledge of snakes =)
