    Animal Plastics Tub Stuck! Help!

So i'm feeding my BPs today and the top Tub of my Animal Plastic Rack system will not come out. I've looked using a flashlight to see if something (not sure how) is blocking it from coming out but both sides and the top I do not see anything. The only thing I can think of is it is blocked from the bottom shelf of that rack where the groove is that the heat tape is in. Any thoughts ideas? other then removing the top of the rack to get the tub/snake out any ideas?

Don't panic. Your bps will be no worse off for missing a meal. Which rack system are you using? Have you tried contacting AP?

This is one of those things that's best seen in person- it's hard for us to be much help unless someone happens to have had the same issue with this AP rack.

The only thing I'm wondering is if it's just too snug a fit, & with the heat causing some expansion of the plastic, now it's too tight. Try turning off the heat? At least it's not winter.

Have you tried using something like a thin putty knife inserted across the top of the bin to see if it's catching on something & to free it up?

Re: Animal Plastics Tub Stuck! Help!

so after my 2 BPs below finished eating I disassembled the top part of the rack and moved my Hungary Banana BP to a small holding container I found out what was holding the tub from moving. Where the heat tape is there was a strip of that plastic cardboard stuff that they provided to go over the heat tape it apparently got to hot and a little section melted on the bottom of the tub causing it to not come out. I removed that as the tub does not touch the tape because the tape is in a routed groove. when I put the rack system together I wasn't going to use those because I didn't see the point. Thanks for your reply.

If it was hot enough to melt that, make sure you're checking the rack temps with a temp gun before anything else. That shouldn't be able to happen.

I actually picked up an AP rack second hand where the tape burned a hole through the tub on the bottom. I don't know if it was a similar issue or not... just how I got it. The old heat tape was still in it and it had one single nasty burn spot. The rest of the tape seemed fine, but I didn't risk keeping it.

Yes! I was thinking this sounded dangerous too- maybe the tape is (or became) defective.
