Hi I havnt posted in a while I have my girl Luna she’s 1 and a half had a load of problems from day one with her she came with mites, wounds and she’s a very wary girl so I waited and waited to put her in a big tank until I knew everything was sorted she was on regular feeding and then finally put her in her tank she seemed fine first couple of days exploring then she went into shed shed was fine she was due feed and refused it so I’m going to retry in a week or so but she’s glass surfing every night never through the day just at night humidity and all temps are fine I check the temps daily with a temp gun I know this could be because it’s a new tank I guess I kind of want reassurance in a way and to know if when changing them to a tank how long it generally takes for them to settled abit

No way to predict how long before a snake feels settled into a new home- it tends to freak them out for a while because they don't feel safe, & snakes have individual personalities too. In the wild, they learn their way around to survive heat, cold, & predators, so when the world they knew just up & disappears, try to imagine how upsetting that would be- even when the new place is much nicer than the old one. A better way to handle it would be gradually- let the snake periodically explore but not live in the new tank a number of times before leaving them permanently in it. That way, at least they'd be familiar with it.

Are her hides the same ones as before? (that can help) Is the arrangement similar? (that might help?) How's the overall privacy? (you might try covering half the tank with a towel for a while)
What size tank was the old one? and how big is the new one? Might also try an extra hide &/or extra "cover" (vines, a tube, or caves, etc).

Luna clearly wants out, so I'd let her out. As long as you supervise, the exercise will be good for her. I'll bet she settles right on down afterward, though don't be surprised if she's begging to get out again tomorrow.

I'd be climbing the windows too, if everyone made me stay "in my room" as an adult-

She has 4 hides in the tank and one of them is one of her old ones that are now too small I have a lot of plants and wood in for her to help her feel safe she was in a tub that was 3 foot long I might try covering half the tank and see if that helps abit

I will see if she wants to come out before she went into blue I was getting her out but since her she’s I was just trying to leave her as I didn’t want to stress her anymore I’ll just open the door tonight and see if she wants out

Little update for everyone Thankyou so much for help she’s been coming out nearly every night tryed feeding her the other day and she wouldn’t going to give it another week and try again she’s calmed down a lot so maybe it was she just wanted to be out and explore

Just don't handle her right before you try to feed her (ie. not the night before or day of) as that may stress or at least distract a snake from eating.

Thankyou yeh I normally don’t couple days before feeding with any of them

She ate I had to take out her water bowl and plants today so she had the whole of the middle of the tank (like I used too) and she ate!!!! She’s currently sat in her hide with her head peaking out looking very happy with herself
