many thanks to everyone who has responded so far - i am ultimately interested in all experiences with all snakes just ftr so anyone with any experience is welcome to give their experiences - with this said i am also particularly interested in any input on B. imperator, P. bivittatus + P. sebae (which per Gio’s comments seems the first 2 are covered which is v good )

Not a personal story by any means, but about 20-25 years there was an article on retics in an issue of Reptiles Magazine, in which there was a photo of a male and female posed together in a cage. The female had ugly, deep gashes where the male had opened her up after being introduced. IIRC, the thought was that she must have smelled like a rival male.

    Interesting story.
Thanks for sharing that. I'm sure if you look deep into things there are probably some very bizarre, yet rare accounts of things like that.

Retics are no joke and I wouldn't doubt an ornery male or female may not be receptive to a mate.

I don't have any experience with colubrids, however I'll bet there are a lot of stories regarding breeding gone wrong.

I haven't done a lick of research on King Cobras and I'd be curious to know if there are any dangers breeding them.

if a snakes parents were WC x F2 how would the resulting offspring be classified? would they be F3 or does the WC parent disrupt that?
