Is this real? BP x GTP? TreeBall?
Seen this online, claims they are gtp x ball Python. I’m not saying they are or aren’t, I genuinely don’t know calling them a TreeBall

Carpet python x royal python exists.
Carpet python x GTP exists
So by that math the GTPxRoyal is possible.
But my biggest question in these cases is....why?? I admit, I love working with the different genes combos. But crossing different species from entirely different parts of the world with different care? Definitely not something I would want to do. Maybe in an enclosed scientific study.... But as a general public and sale? Definitely not.
My other concern would be health issues. Sure, reptiles are a bit less likely to show signs of inbreeding/line feeding as quickly as a mammal, I don't know if enough study has gone into hybridization as well.
For example, ligers tend to be LARGE and prone to heart failure. Tygons tend to be almost dwarfed compared to the parents iirc.
Seeing people purposely breeding something for the 'cool factor's and disregarding possible health issues is just frustrating

Personally, these bizarre crosses disgust me. I don't care what they look like -"pretty" doesn't justify it. These creatures have evolved in very different ways, & crossing them just seems wrong.

i have seen “angryballs” (BP x Angolan Python) and i have even seen (i crap you not) “burmballs” (BP x Burmese Python) - personally i think the ethics of this are atrocious and am v much against hybridizing snake species (i mean let’s consider that in some instances even crossing certain morphs within the same species could be fatal)
i also don’t think people that do this are taking a) the above into consideration or b) that more and more and more states in Africa, Asia, and South America are shutting down imports, Australia already has - if we don’t find a way to preserve pure localities, pure species, etc - the whole hobby will be messed up.
^and it’s because of stuff like this - scientists, and conservationists don’t want to work with hobbyists because of this genetic pollution and dilution - i feel like it’s one thing to make strains of albinism more present (responsibly) or make a wild occurring stripe more apparent but it’s truly something else to take snake species from 2 different continents and hybridize them

How does that line go? 'Intelligence is knowing how to do something; wisdom is knowing not to do it.'

Re: Is this real? BP x GTP? TreeBall?
So instead of answering my question you all go on a rant about whether it’s ethically right or wrong. I have no feelings about right or wrong and have no interest in purchasing or breeding anything like this, my question was, are these real, as I’ve heard many people have tried to breed these without success, I have seen a Carpondro bred to a ball Python which is the closest to this I suppose, but if they are real then this is surely a worlds first? Whether it should be done or not is a different issue. Thanks guys

That's the best answer to your question.
Yes, this would be the first if they actually do exist. And art in fact GTP x Ball/royal
If you didn't want the extra commentary, you should have said that you weren't interested in it the ethics of it just if it's possible.
Hybrids are an EXTREMELY hot button topic as this is one of the things that can cause legislation down the line.
And if you read into that particular breeder's post, those are the only 3 that survived. The rest of the clutch died. So health issues would still be an issue.
But you do you I guess?

I'm not sure that any of us can guarantee you that these are "real"- that's probably why we digressed & shared our opinions, which you probably should have anticipated, since we're all humans.
