I can’t maintain humidity
Hi, I am currently using a 40GAL exo-terra tank with a mix reptibark/sphagnum moss as substrate. I want my humidity to stay at 55-60 when my ball python is not in shes but it keeps dropping… I have done everything I can but nothing is working? It will start out at 60 then gradually drop to the 30’s overnight… I now have to mist it every 2 hours to maintain it, but I cannot do so when I’m sleeping or at school. I’m worried that my excessive misting will cause problems for my snake. The temperature is 95 at highest and 78 at lowest. Someone help

Your hot spot temperature is way too hot. The snake should not ever come in contact with a temperature above 90. You need to lower it so it's between 85 and 90*. Can you add a picture of the enclosure? What type of heating element are you using? My recommendation is to add a large water bowl on the warm side and cover most of the screen with aluminum foil or something similar.

Re: I can’t maintain humidity
Hello, try covering some of the open areas with “ press and seal” plastic cling wrap temporarily. It will buy time as you receive other recommendations from those who have similar issues. Also those with the exo terra enclosures.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. See this recent thread.

what kind of mister are using tho? a regular hand mister will only be getting the surface layer of the substrate moist and will evaporate relatively quickly in high heat comparative to the big pump mister you can find at pet stores that get deep into the substrate like actual rain - i use both tbh and i only have to list every other day
het for nothing but groovy
