How to heat 6’ PVC enclosure….

I’m building a 6x2x2’ PVC enclosure and due to lack to RHP anywhere in struggling and stressed on how to properly heat it to give my BP a good hot and cool side of the enclosure. Could anyone offer suggestions or ideas? I’d prefer a long RHP but everything has been out of stock so I want to see what more experienced users like some of you would recommend. Thanks.

You can get by with heat tape if the ambient temps in the room are high enough.

You can get by with heat tape if the ambient temps in the room are high enough.

And if the room is cold you can use two strips of heat tape, one on each side. One will create a 90*F hot spot and the other an 80*F hot spot. They won't increase the ambient of the overall enclosure too much but if you put a hide over each they do increase the air temp under the hide a good bit.

Bcr229, that's, sort of, what I do. I have a RHP create the hot spot and heat tape to keep the cool side from getting too cool.

StarkTech, if you go this route, set it up and test it for at least a week before putting your bp in it. Tweaking your set up with the bp in it is stressful for both you and your bp.

Is ProHeat not making panels currently?

Reptile Basics does have panels available sometimes, and they have a notification list. I'm pretty sure I saw some on their table at Tinley recently. My local shop has some in RB panels stock sometimes lately (they're out of stock now), so the panels are being produced apparently.

Yes they are, I just got a quote from them about a month or so ago so I'd assume they are producing at a regular rate right now

Well then by far the best option is to use a ProHeat panel.
