My snakes are all in PVC enclosures, some of which are stacked. I'm going to be upgrading enclosure size for several snakes in the next few months - so I am looking to do some rearranging of the snake room to make access a bit easier for me.
I'm a small woman and also have some physical limitations thanks to a motorcycle accident I was in when I was young and dumber than I am now . So I want to avoid stacks that require rear access for placing temp probes and the wires for lights, etc. because even on rollers, moving big stacks around so that I can reach the back is pretty rough. Granted, I almost never need to do this but the times when it is necessary are such a pain that I want to avoid it if possible.
I am thinking of asking my enclosure maker to set the new enclosures up with side access ports for probes and wires rather than having the access holes in the rear of the enclosures as is the usual setup. I think this could work really well for me as I could then move or replace probes/wires without having to move entire enclosure stacks around.
But I wanted to ask here if anyone has alternative ideas or suggestions for ensuring fairly easy access to probes and wires in stacks of enclosures. I hope this post makes sense; I'm not sure I explained my situation clearly!
