Should I feed my snake?
I know the title is misleading lol, but that’s my question. I feed my snake every 7-8 days. He’s 8 months old and 500g. I’m going on a one week vacation where I am only able to get someone to spray the enclosure. They are not able to feed or clean poop.
He poops usually after every 4th meal, and if I were to feed him before we left (in two days) then that’d be his fourth meal and he’d most likely poop.
So my two options are to:
1:feed him before we leave (which is on schedule) and he’ll most likely have to sit with poop in his tank for a week.
2: don’t feed him (14 days with no food) and he’ll most likely not poop.
Any help or suggestions?
Thanks!

You can do either.
Often I will feed mine before leaving so I know they will be lazy for a few days and not destroying anything inside their house. But then there have been times I didn't. Kinda depends on how many I have that are ready to eat. If I have more that need to eat than not....I will feed. Like if I have a few in shed and would not be feeding them I will just wait to feed everyone when I get back.

I'd skip this meal- he'll be just fine, & much better off not sitting around with feces in his home that he cannot get away from. 14 days is not a big deal.

Re: Should I feed my snake?
It’s not too bad to leave him in a really clean enclosure when you leave. Consider feeding him a smaller meal prior to your departure. These reptiles are opportunistic feeders and do quite well missing meals. It’s wired into their DNA to tolerate gaps in food availability and the lack thereof.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

If I'm leaving for a couple days if I do feed, I feed at least 48 hours beforehand so I can make sure there's not a regurge. The only thing worse that poop is sitting in regurge because it can cause physical harm to your snake on top of just being gross.
Anything longer than a quick weekend away, I let them all fast a little for the poop reasons. lol.

Good point, I think waiting is the best option

You got to know your collection and trust what you think is best. I have zero worries about a regurg with my current bunch so I am not worried when feeding and being away a few days. If I did had a problem child I certainly would wait to feed them when I got back.
