    Snake Boo-Boos

I saw the funniest thing and wondered if just my snake the only one ever that managed to do this.

While feeding A'Kashja tonight she missed her prey item on the first strike. No biggie, she has horrible aim and misses every once in a while. However, when she missed she BIT herself, held on, and tried to constrict herself! My wife said, what a DUMB A$$. I couldn't help but laugh my butt off, but I had to remind my wife they are creatures of instinct and not thought.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I remember another person had that happen, but just make sure they didn't injure themselves and you should be fine.

    Re: Snake Boo-Boos

Never had Bahaumat bite herself, but with her last feeding I had a good laugh. I placed the mouse in her cage, which she immediatly noticed, she moved over to strike it, and the mouse turned around, she then bit down on the last centimeter of the poor mouse tail. The thing freaked out and tried to run off, but then it turned and looked to me like it was going to attack my snake, so I reached my hand in and flicked the mouse head, little sucker was stunned for a bit, but Bahaumat still hadn't coiled around it yet. The mouse finally got up and tried to make a run at her again, but this time she smacked it up against the glass with her tail, then she finally coiled it. I was laughing the whole time it took her to eat it, I never seem to have a normal quiet feeding with her!

dexter ate yesterday and when i put the mouse in he grabbed it by the tail and then coiled... and he held onto it's tail so tightly. i was laughing at him. obvious to us at that point that the coil is what kills them not the bite...
