How often to attempt to feed a BP on hunger strike

Had my male for about a year now and he's going into a hunger strike for the first time. I have attributed this to the winter season and also stress due to us recently moving. I am wondering how often to offer food to him until he eats. Every day? Every week? Every other week? He's currently being feed a small rat every 14 days as per advice from his vet.

Stick with the usual feeding frequency. After two refused feedings, add a week to the interval. If another refusal add another week. Hunger will eventually win.

Agree with jmcrook, & just want to add that most snakes are LESS likely to eat if you offer them food too often- because you're stressing them by doing so. Learn to be patient & wait for them to get hungry.

This is a lesson I had to learn the hard way with a hognose that wouldn't eat for me for a few months. Luckily jmcrook's advice was given to me by someone else before I found this site and worked, but my new keeper worry may have extended that hunger strike for longer than it needed to be because I was over zealous with my feeding attempts.
