    Multiple prey items

My local rat vendor had no med sized rats for my 26 month old 2000gm BP. I got two smalls instead. They are alive. What I need to know is do I feed them back to back or is there a recommended time to wait between feedings. Any and all input will be appreciated.

Feed back to back, otherwise you risk a regurgitation of both. Digestion gets going, then adding another item often means insufficient enzymes & they may not be able to digest properly, so up it all comes.

Also by waiting, you risk your snake just not feeling in the mood to eat again. Just like us, actually: when we eat faster than our stomach can tell our brain we're 'full' we may keep eating too much, but when we really slow down, we often find that eating less was actually enough & we feel full. Animals presumably have a similar situation, & even so, some snakes will just refuse a second item no matter what, but better to find out right away, & if it's refused, kill & freeze it for another day.

    Re: Multiple prey items

If I feed multiple prey items I usually feed them back to back but there have been times when a snake got a 2nd prey item a day or three later if another snake refused a meal. Since you’re feeding live I’d definitely feed them back to back.
