Herpstat not sending power? (urgent help needed please)

Hi all, normally I would do a bunch of research and see if I could figure it out myself before posting but after tearing down and rebuilding my setup today and being absolutely exhausted and having bad brain fog from fibro setting in I can't even figure out what to google so I would really, really appreciate some help with troubleshooting.

I got a herpstat 6 and previously had it hooked up to one set up (on output 1) and it was working fine. Today I got everything reorganized so I could move everything off of cheap thermostats and onto the herpstat but it's not sending any power to the heating units. The sensors are reading correctly and all the heating units work.

I have it set to heating (dimming), no night mode or anything fancy. If you can help me figure out what's going on before I have popsicle pythons I will be so incredibly appreciative, thank you.

Check the fuse first. Then do you have a voltage meter? So you can check the conductivity of the thermostat?


Other then that check youtube.

This is why I have spares. If a local store has a cheap manual get it for now.

How do I prevent that from happening in the future? My understanding of how electrical appliances work is embarrassingly close to "it's magic!"

I just reread it again. Leave it on the old cheap units for now. Reread the manual an watch the youtube vid on setting it up. Many times it's just power plugged into the wrong out.

If you still have the box your herpstat came in, it might have come with a spare fuse. I thought mine did.

Also, don't get one fuse, get a few, just in case.

You probably had a surge of some kind that fried the fuse. Or it became overloaded.

As long as no one is digesting, a space heater will be fine for the night, or even room temp.

If they are digesting, then yes, definitely the space heater.

Fuses die an burn out. I order a six pack from Herpstat with every unit. Some will last years an then a spike will fry it. When I have two left I order another six pack.

I am positive I still have the box...Somewhere... No one's digesting but the house was built before insulation was a thing so they'll have the space heater just in case. I'll definitely grab a handful of the fuses, it looks there are two kinds and I'll get both just in case.

It's a 5x20mm 3.15 Amp Fast Acting Fuse

An looking at my manual I read this:

" Internal error detection shuts off heat if sensor fails or is disconnected."

Can you see the fuse is burnt out? Another reason to have a voltage meter.
