Newest addition to the snake family
Hi everyone, got myself a beautiful new girl today. My first Boa! After having BP’s and corns for a few years I decided a nice new addition was needed and this beautiful little girl became available to me.
One thing I’ve noticed though is she’s extremely feisty. Loves to hiss at every opportunity and often strikes at her water dish. I’m going to take my time and ease her into handling. Just wondered if anyone else has any experience with feisty Boa’s?

I'm not familiar with all types of Boas, but it's a pretty safe generality to say that the babies can be hissy little drama queens - usually much more bark than bite!
Just be gentle and patient. My baby Tarahumara Boas hissed so much and so loudly that you could hear them throughout the house, lol. They were always nice to handle, but hissed when I'd first take them out of their enclosures until they were about a year old. They're sweethearts, as are most Boas; I'm sure your little one will do fine once it's settled in.
