Taming down my retic
My baby retic has made significant progress! In only a week he now lets me hold him and pick him up, he also enjoys climbing on my shoulders and head. Ive also successfully hook trained him. The only issue he currently has is that he's pretty reactive. He gets a bit nippy if I touch certain parts of his body. I've worked with and tamed down reactive snakes before and I've had success with my method of taming down snakes. I was wondering if anyone had any extra advice I could use!

It's too late for my advice (ie. don't get a retic) LOL. Good luck, do keep us posted?

I don't handle mine that much, but when I do she's chill and fine with head / tail touching. Just keep handling periodically with hook training.

Re: Taming down my retic
I make sure to always to end my handling on a good note. If I decide to take her out I always go through with it. If my girl is running or grabbing stuff in her enclosure as I try to remove her, I go slow and make sure to get her out safe. And only put her back in once she has calmed down. I don't want her to learn that if she runs or makes it difficult for me that I will just give up. I hook train anytime I'm going in her enclosure water dish, cleaning etc. But I'm also a new owner and feel like I may have been blessed with this girl.
