Replacement for F-10SC disinfectant?
https://www.reptilebasics.com/f10-products/
Basically, they can no longer import it, but I rely on it to make sure that if an animal dies, I can clean out the cage. I don't like using bleach or other harsh chemicals and vinegar isn't strong enough in my eyes.
So is there something States side which is easy to get that is similar formulation to F-10SC or at least can kill germs, etc? It's gotten rid of RSIs in ball pythons and rats for me...
Really sad I can't get it anymore. 1 bottle of the stuff could easily last me a year or a year and a half. I use it for water bowls, cages, etc.

You can still get it on amazon. Try chlorhexidine, the blue stuff is what I use.

Chlorhexidine is a decent substitute, though obviously you can't nebulize with it.
F10SC is still in stock on Amazon but holy heck it's gotten expensive.

Man what’s up with this? No longer available in the states? Anyone know why? I have a bad hunch! I still have a bottle, stuff goes a long way, damn. I really love using that stuff. Oh well, eventually back to Windex disinfectant and Dawn dish soap.

Yeah, I bought up a ton on Amazon. I have chlorhexidine too, but I am hoping my f10 supply lasts until it comes back to the states, if it ever does.
If not, as Deborah said, the chlorhexidine works well for cleaning the tanks, BUT DO NOT NEBULIZE WITH IT.
I've used f10 for years and love it. However, if my supply runs out, I will switch to chlorhexidine and feel that I am doing an adequate job of keeping my tanks clean.
For what's worth, I use F10sc to clean and disinfect and Healthy Habitat to keep my tanks smelling fresh.

Yeah, on amazon for 70 dollars, and no... not spending 70 dollars when I used to get a bottle for 20. I really love the stuff. Has a nice sudsy effect, not too strong a smell, can use it for multiple applications... the only thing it doesn't get out is hard water stains, which I use boiled vinegar for.
Looks like chlorhexidine is my best bet. No nebulizing option, though.
Hope they find a way to import it again at price. I really, really love and rely on it for all of my cleaning needs.
BTW, is chlorhexidine good for water dishes? Like how much should I worry about it in water dishes? I clean my water dishes at least once a week, if not more (because some reptiles poo in it).
I'll ask the makers why they can't import to the US anymore in the interim... 'cause why not?

BTW, asked the maker of F10SC why it's not on the US market anymore. They bounced the question to another person since they don't seem to be aware of the fact it isn't on the US market. The plot thickens? Because it seemed to be going out of stock in 2019. The avian community also relies on the stuff for a host of things. (I was searching for it). So we'll see if I get a definitive answer.

Interested in what the answer turns out to be if you manage to find out! This saddens me because F10 is my favourite disinfectant for my BP's enclosure. I am in Canada, not the States, but I noticed the supply also seemed to be running dry here in Canada in 2019 as well.

Re: Replacement for F-10SC disinfectant?
I have been in contact with a person at F10 company, and they have been very helpful for all my questions related to their product. I did also ask this question last month and this is what she said:
We have identified and are in the process of appointing two distributors in the USA and expect that F10 products will be available in 2 to 3 months in the USA. We will not be expanding our distribution network in the USA beyond the 2 distributors identified for the time being. Once the arrangements are finalised their information will be placed on our websites under Country Distributors.
Hope this helps!

"Thank you for your enquiry sent to our Australian distributor. The F10 Product range is manufactured in South Africa. We have recently appointed 2 distributors in the USA and are currently finalising the import details. We expect stock could be in the USA within the next 2/3 months. We will pass your details on to the new distributors. Once everything is finalised their details will be placed on our websites under Country Distributors."
That's the message I got. So we have to hang in there for 2-3 months. The Avian community will be pleased too. So it looks like what happened was they were looking for new distributors in that time which interrupted service for a while and then ran into import issues (licenses, etc).
