Wildlife tour gets real when venomous cottonmouth climbs aboard boat off Outer Banks

Good job for these people not panicking....

“I agreed to sit with a paddle and holler in case it tried moving. I could try to quickly scoop it up and get rid of it,” he said. “We were a long way from a hospital and anti-venom, so we were willing to kill it, should it become too aggressive. But I didn’t want to do that.”

" If the snake moved forward, Winn says they intended to jump overboard."

Love it when wildlife just gets IN the boat supposedly on a wildlife tour. And I hate to tell them but yes, a snake can hold their breath longer than 10 minutes.
Just glad no harm came to the snake or the passengers. I can just imagine them panicked & jumping over-board, then finding themselves in the water WITH the snake?

Why do these things never happen to me? I would love an up close with a cotton mouth.

Thought you're going MIL. You'll meet all types of danger noodles. Fun ones are if you go to a Jungle Warfare School or course. It's fun when your teaching Tommy Tent Peg about danger noodles an the one your showing tags you 68W start freaking out as you put the snake back an hand the class over to another trainer.

Number one rule when dealing with danger noodles:

    No free handling.

    Second rule:

Danger noodle has the right of way

Glad the people kept their cool. An humans an snake made it home unharmed.
