2018 0.1 Brisbane Coastal Carpet Progression

The Brisy looks like she's fairly substantial in girth already.
You scored there and I'm really struggling to hold off on anything until I know what's cooking a few minutes north of me.
Howdy, partner!
Yeah, she’s probably twice the mass of the Rockhampton, maybe more. Don’t have a weight on her yet though. I got an extra pair of RBI mini hides for her but she kinda spills out the sides of them. Will give her the small hides I’ve got but they take up more space in the tub. I think she’s got plenty of room in this 11qt but may move her to a 23qt before long.
Definitely a much heftier frame than the Rockhampton too. Even the structure of her head is so much different. Much more broad and flat. So cool to have two of the same species that look completely different.
I say snatch up one of those Brisbanes from Michael Pennell! Drink the koolaid, come join me...

Way back on an Aussie chat board I brought up the discussion about head variation between different species of carpets. The coastals, certain types, seem to be known for wide, flat heads. The Darwins I've seen seem to have almost a puffy, balloon look to the back of their heads.
Bredli have a really chunky look to their's.
JM, I'm tempted to Jewel to the former Wallace cage.
That cage would be exceptional for a Bredli once mature. They have a huge climate variation in their natural habitat and I could really mimic something like that in a big cage.
That said,,,,,, OOOOhh what a female Suri would like in there once grown.

Had the new kid out for maybe 2 minutes, didn’t want to stress her out. A tad flighty but no blood shed. I think she may have bit the sleeve of my shirt but I couldn’t see her head to be sure.

Looking good!
It's fun watching them grow. Yafe is really starting to get the beefier adult CP head now.
Keep up the gentle handling and she will get there.
P.S. Sleeves don't count .

Thanks, Dakski!
She’s going to be impressive with some size. Her head is already fairly beefy for being a few months from her 2nd birthday. Very intense looking eyes too.
I know she’s likely to calm with gentle handling and working with her over time. The worst part of being bitten isn’t even the bite, it’s the suspense of knowing when it’s about to happen haha.
That’s exactly why I wore long sleeves just now. I knew she’d be more likely to tag the fabric than go all the way for my forearm. I anticipate some blood donations in the future but that’s to be expected with a baby carpet, especially one whose lineage isn’t terribly far removed from the wild.

I like what I see. I'll bet she settles quickly and ends up being a favorite.
Aussie snakes really have what I would call a personality, over almost any other species. My opinion, based on limited experience, but still, from what I see, I'm more convinced over time.
