Re: AP Cages for sale - will ship!

The buyer sealing them with silicone seems to be an unnecessary step. I would think the manufacturer would include some cut-to-size rubber gaskets of some sort that adhered to the joints where the pieces butt together. That would be nice, clean and very professional looking once complete...

You should run that by the people at AP. They are EXTREMELY customer-oriented and open to suggestions. As a matter of fact, a guy I work with right now is working with them on a prototype rack for a adult boa setup using the huge Iris tubs. And he got that going just by simply saying he liked their cages but didn't have any rack systems large enough to accomodate adult boas.

and oh yeah, the reason they come disassembled is to save you money on shipping. Every try to ship a 4x8' vision cage????

I had no problems sealing the cage with the provided silicone. The black silicone on the black cage looks very nice. IMO it looks more clean and even then silicone beads in most comercial fish tanks. Silicone is also very flexible so when moving the assembled cage you need not worry about breaking a seal or anything. Just my 2 cents
