    Sphagum moss

I added some in the corners, in the hides and a little under my substrate to help with the humidity. I only really spray the moss in the corners and the least traveled places. My question is will sphagum moss hurt my snake if he accidentally ingests it while eating? I’m sure too much of anything will hurt him but wasn’t sure about the moss. Thanks

    Re: Sphagum moss

I think I may have answered my own question kinda. I tried feed in a separate container like I’ve read that some people do to totally eliminate the issue of accidentally ingesting anything and he took the mouse just fine. He’s only a few months old so maybe this is how I can start feeding him. He didn’t hesitate when he realized I was feeding him.

Yes, you answered your own question. I personally wouldn’t be concerned. I was and am still big fan of sphagnum moss. But recently having fantastic results with natural type sponges forum Walmart. My wife suggested it (I’m a tank guy it works great). Winters are brutal dry at times in Chicago because of the furnace blasting away. I get the sponge damp and leave it on top of their hide. Refreshing every two days or so.(cleaning with f10 also as needed). Peace
