    Just a small victory dance

My ball python (about 4.5 m/o) switched over to rats for me with no hesitation! She's my first one. First snake all together, and I have been sort of dreading the switch. Today was the first rat pup I offered her and she struck it no problem!!! I'm so happy! Haha none of my family or friends are snake people so they dont understand why I am so excited. 'Nother milestone met and conquered with my baby!

Congrats!! That's a sign that your BP is unstressed and growing so it sounds like you're doing a good job with your first snake

Re: Just a small victory dance

Well, New Years Day was the 3rd consecutive rat pup she has eaten for me, and no signs of regurgitation or anything so, I think I am in the clear!! Woo! probably going to start feeding every 6 days until these rat pups are gone and I can move up because they are a bit small for her and last feeding, she was so hungry she practically jumped out of the tub to get the pup! She also seems to start showing hunting behavior only about 2 nights after she's fed, so I think every 6 days will be fine for now. I just wanted to make sure she was good and hungry in between to avoid refusals of the rats!
