    Regarding on ball python scales

    Hi everyone, I will like to check out this.. Its was share by someone in Facebook that natural honey is good to apply on ball python scales.. Is it true??

    I don't think it would hurt but I also don't believe it would help, & sure would be messy... Don't know for sure though, never tried it.

    While honey has some antiseptic properties and is a "folk remedy" to promote healing, for snakes Vetericyn gel would be a better option.

    What if is a wound ointment antiseptic skin care useful for ball python??

    THIS ^ ^ ^ or you can use Betadine (povidone-iodine) solution, dabbed on (<made for human use)

    Vetericyn is a vet product MADE for snakes (water-based...it's best NOT to use petroleum-based products such as Neosporin as it can cause issues with peeling scales)

    If you're talking about the lightened scales & slight "bald" spot in the middle of the head, that appears to be from head rubbing in the cage, & since it is well-healed (no
    raw wounds) there is NO point putting antiseptic on it...it won't change anything. Those scales may never look the same, or may very gradually improve in time.
