Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
The new Herpstat 2 arrived last week and I finally have enough time to start messing around with probe placement to dial-in the RHP. Depending on how things go, I should be able to move Adelita into her new digs by the end of next week. She was looking good in dark phase today:
I noticed her vent looks a wee bit pink. Her whole belly seems to be on the pink-ish side, too, though it's always kinda been like that. It seems to be a non-issue, but I figured I'd post a pic in case. For the record, it's been four meals since her last "bit of business" and a little over two months since her last shed:

Pink belly usually means a shed is coming.
She looks awesome.

Re: Adelita - 2019 Hypo Sonoran
Finally started the process of dialing in the RHP today. It'll probably take me a few days to do so, so I've decided to hold off moving Adelita to her new digs until the holidays are over. We had a nice little photoshoot in the interim. Finally getting good at catching her tongue flicks:
It dawned on me today that Adelita has officially been home for over three months and has effectively made it through a standard quarentine period with flying colors. I feel like I've grown quite a bit alongside her these past three months. The process of learning proper, nuanced snake husbandry and kitting out an enclosure of size has been an enlightening experience. It all puts how much space and resources I'd require for a second boa and larger enclosures into perspective. Part of me is seriously debating bringing home a second (and likely final) boa in the new year, and I've narrowed down the candidates to either a male Sonoran leopard or a male longicauda. We'll see what happens.

Adelita is absolutely beautiful. I am pining for a red tail but simply do not have the space or experience right now. Just got my first snake a few months ago but a redtail is goals.
