I'd say quite normal...they're more active & inquisitive (less secretive) than BPs. Nice choice, she's a cutie.

Re: Got my first boa
Congrats! I asked this exact same question a few months ago when we got our BCI. He settled down in a couple of days, but he is still super curious. Anytime we go to put him back in his enclosure after we've had him out for awhile, he doesn't want to go back in.

Great choice and I echo similar words.
Boas are fantastic and IMO a very easy species to keep. At the moment I'd give a slight edge to carpet pythons, however the favorite snake here is my boa constrictor and on any given day I'd switch between boas and carpets.
I also have a retic and my son has a royal. One is a bit of a stressor and the other is boring but sweet.
I'd 100% recommend boa constrictors to anybody that is mature enough and serious enough to keep an animal like a reptile long term.
A big DO NOT with boas is engaging in over feeding. These animals observe seasonal changes in their natural environment, and in captivity. Feast and famine is normal and making some simple seasonal adjustments to feeding and climate, will somewhat simulate what they deal with in the wild.
Stroll down a well thought out path with your boa, and you will likely have a pet for at least 20 years.
