Dimples on day 5, but humidity is 99%?
Hi guys, I got a couple fairly big dimples on the eggs on day 4, and of course the dimples still here on day 5... But the humidity has apparently been 99% this whole time? What should I be changing?
I have two hygrometers in there just to make sure one isn't broken, and they both have shown 99% the whole time so far.
The incubator is being heated with a 40 watt RHP from maybe 10 inches above the egg box, kept at 89 (but it's been a range of 87~89 inside the egg box).

I'd start by double-checking my medium and the seal on my egg tub.
My other thought was that being heated from above might be creating more convection inside the incubator or tub itself that, while not lowering humidity per se, is moving the air around in a way that could be wicking moisture from the eggies. If that's a factor, that probably could be mitigated somehow.

I've seen dimpled eggs regain their form, but sometimes it just takes a while...it's like watching paint dry.

Wow, so apparently it really was the type of hygrometer I was using being inaccurate/measuring humidity from the wrong side... both of them.... I put in an Acurite hygrometer in today and apparently the humidity has been floating around 88% for probably the entire time. -____- Though I can't imagine why, because the tub is closed and the media is very wet?
I tried to seal the edges with plastic wrap now (I don't have press and seal) and hope it helps lol
How long usually does it take for dimpled eggs to regain their form? And most importantly: why on earth is the humidity 88% LOL

For anyone having the same problem in the future: Thought I'd update that turns out humidity actually was 90~94% and both of those hygrometers were wrong LOL. I got an Acurite hygrometer and it showed a lower percentage.
So turns out that the tub was leaking humidity with just a lid on, so I had to buy press-n-seal to completely seal the tub and that fixed the issue. It made humidity 99% after awhile and is now consistent.
