Very Nice! Little pepper, excellent coloring. Columbian too. They are my favorite. Centrals are too plain. He/she looks good and healthy too, been on a good diet!

Re: pics of my new baby

Awwww what a pretty girl or boy (I'd get it probed lol I can't stand not knowing what I have!)

I never really was into Columbians until we rescued Rauri but fostering him has been a great experience and now we are totally gone on them. Great snakes with great personalities and quite easy to care for. Never a refusal to eat, no aggression to speak of (one incident during shed but heck that doesn't count)...just generally a great snake to have around the house. Nice big size w/o becoming too overly massive.

Congrats on the lovely new addition to your collection!

Not all BCI's turn dark as they get older, mine has yet to turn dark, in fact, he is getting lighter grey with more pink and blue color to him.

Re: pics of my new baby

Oh she's a girl! Well congrats! Lovely name too!

Rauri isn't very dark really other than down his tail area. His body and head tend to be like a light, dry sandy color (background) with darker brown saddles. He does change shade a bit here and there but that seems fairly normal for these snakes as far as I've been told. It's just a subtle change though. When he came in he was so dark you could barely make out his saddles but that was related to massive stress and bad care and went away fairly quickly.

What I love about Rauri's coloring is the amazing irredescence (sp?) In the right light there are all these amazing blues and greens that you can see. So pretty!

yeah i handled my friends female 9ft bci and she was just gorgeous. the sunlight hit her body and she rivaled top models in gorgeousness. very heavy but loved her to death. i have never handled a snake that big and i hope one day, nikita will rival the size and beauty of that snake. totally awesome experience.
