    3 Years. Shed And Fed.

Wallace hit the three year mark on June 1. As I stated in my last picture post of him, he was in shed. I had him out today a few days after shed, a meal and 2 days after the big 3rd B-Day.

He was the perfect gentleman, once he was out of the cage. He looks pretty smashing in the natural light.

After a couple of biting incidents, my exceptions of jerkiness from him during our interactions tend to be high. He has never once been anything but polite when out of the cage. As a matter of fact, he tries to make his way back to me and climb on to my leg and work his way up almost every time we are out.

    Notice the raised head here.

I was hesitant, however I was also insistent on having a few deck rail shots. He is really glowing here.

I popped the deck umbrella and took a few pictures that were not in direct sunlight.

    Happy Birthday Buddy!

FYI that is not stuck shed between the eyes. He pulled some color off of his scales several sheds ago and it still shows up.

    Thanks for looking!

One of the most beautiful retics I've ever seen. I thought he already looked so bright and amazing when he was in shed, but he looks even better now. The contrast of the colours, the patterns, and that rainbow sheen are all so gorgeous.

    Thank you!

He's pretty long, and bigger than he looks here with my arm in the picture. He actually looks very small here. This photo is very deceiving

However, he's not a huge animal and hopefully won't be.

    Retics!!

Man, he looks great, buddy! I’d imagine he’s got to be topping off size wise given age and feeding regiment. Glad you’re enjoying his company! Dude is sure a looker!

Too much snake for me, but I love seeing yours...he's really stunning! Also makes for great yard "decor"...

That is a very wise outlook on your part. I don't recommend these animals for pets to most people.

    Thanks for the nice comments.

As far as retics go, this is a very manageable animal. The father was 5 feet and the mother was 10 feet.

I was not told the ages of the mother and father however, so that could factor into this equation later.

I didn't and still don't want to deal with much more than this for size. A larger boa or carpet would be a lot easier to handle and work with.

If I experienced the issues that two of my friends had here with my guy, I'd likely not have Wallace.

BUT,,,,, I'm quite happy with how things are shaping up and I'm very happy I have him.

I'm perfectly content with his golden-eyed brother in my avatar....he's even easier to handle, lol.

Wow, can’t believe he’s 3 years old already. Mighty fine looking Retic. My favorite looking pattern/color of all.

So glad he is working out well for you. Love the updates.
