I've seen snake scales like this before, but I'm not clear on what causes it either; however, if that was my snake, I'd be dabbing some Betadine just on the
discolored scales. Hope someone else chimes in that has dealt with this. Not sure what causes the scales to "de-laminate", but might be something internal
going on, like an infection of some kind. Wouldn't hurt to see a vet (reptile specialist) & have stool checked too, IMO. Have you ever used any kind of topical
products on the snake before? (oils applied topically can make for scale issues too & don't 'belong' on snakes)

Re: Scale rot/issues. Please help.
No nothing has been put on her at all before the scale issues. Once the issues showed up bought Tamodine and f10 germicidal ointment-barrier to try and treat it. But no real progress as yet. http://imgur.com/49x1ZNY

FYI, "ointments" can be used to treat wounds on snakes, but very light use is suggested, as ointments are usually petroleum-based and have been known to cause
messed up (de-laminated) scales. Ointments also tend to spread (travel) beyond where you put them, especially since snakes slide around all the time. Betadine is
water-based.

In the uk I think Tamodine is the name for benodine. Trademark thing I “think” So I’ll stop with the f10 and use only tamodine from now on.
