I think it might be time soon to upsize a hide

It is hard to tell but one side of the hide no longer touches the ground when Argon is in it. I know to wait until he is wearing it as a hat...but any suggestions on hide that are between a small and a medium?

If the medium is too big you can always put a rock, crumbled paper, etc...in the hide to make it feel more snug for him.

My ball python uses a similar hide like you have. He never used it till I put a little dog bed in it to make him feel more comfortable. Without it, it was too open for him and he didn't feel secure.

Here is a picture of him enjoying his hide with a bed in it:

If you are looking for just a hide without having to add anything to it, exo terra make good ones, my snake loved these caves and still loves the big one below.

    Here is the small/medium one:

or if you need a size up, my snake used this when he got too big for the smaller one. He still uses it as an adult but it's extra cozy.

If you can't find these at your local pet store they are on amazon. The bigger one was sold out on amazon.com but I ended up finding it on amazon.co.uk. It was a little more expensive but worth it as my snake loves this hide, he already had one and I got him another one.

Here is a picture of Crowley still loving his little cave the most even with bigger options, I had to take it away from him and I felt so bad.

I will find the one you suggested, it looks like a good hide. Lol, it looks like Crowley did outgrow his hide - did he take having it removed OK?

He probably missed it but it didn't bother him as he had 2 other hides to go in and he came to love the next size up. I think he didn't realize how fast he was growing. lol

I'm glad he likes the new digs! We just had a similar thing happen at our house! They grow fast!

Re: I think it might be time soon to upsize a hide

Mine is too fat to go through the opening on the medium hide she has plenty of room once inside though. But I’ve watched her slowly squeeze herself in there and it’s rather amusing....
