Merlin, Solomon Island ground boa
I got Merlin back in 2002, sold to me as captive bred. He was actually wild caught, so the challenges started there. The guesstimate on his age was probably around two based on his size at that time. He eventually came around to eating mice and being handled and has grown into an incredible little snake.
These little guys are so underrated, and you don't see them offered very often. Once established they're pretty easy to keep, though I would only recommend neonates to an experienced keeper. They also feel different than any other snake I have owned because of their keeled scales. Creates an interesting rough texture rather than the typical smooth scales.
