Meet Ellaria-Pure Ternate Island Reticulated Python
After months of waiting, she's here! Ellaria is a pure Ternate island retic. First snake I ever had shipped to me. She arrived in a very poopy stinky mess, and in shed, but healthy enough to take a few shots at me.
Ternate is a small island in the Maluku Islands, off the coast of Halmahera. It is under 50 square miles, with a bunch of it being a volcano, and these guys stay pretty small. Since they have not been extensively worked with yet, they are not classified as dwarves or SD. However, everyone who works with them believes that they will eventually and should be reclassified as their own subspecies, due to such tremendous differences seen with this locality.
Ellaria is an F1 baby from WC parents, hatched 3/15/19. Weight after 1st shed was 105 grams. I am told that Dad was 7 feet, and Mom was under 11. I was totally unprepared for how tiny she is! I know that will change quickly lol.
This locality show tremendous variation from animal to animal, amazing colors and patterns, and every one I've seen is just absolutely stunning. They definitely seem to get better with age. Apparently there are only 4 other people in the country who currently have pure Ternate retics in their collections, which to me is really cool.
Without further ado, here are some pics! First 2 are from the breeder right after she hatched, others were just snapped between unboxing and putting her in the tub. Can't wait til she sheds! Stay tuned for updates...

NICE ! That is fan-freaking-tastic! Congrats on such a rare and interesting creature.
There are stunning morphs out there, but to my eyes nothing can beat nature's paint job.

If it weren't for the price tag on those Ternates and my terrible luck with retics I'd snatch one of those up in a heartbeat. Congrats! Rodney breeds some VERY nice locale retics for sure

Thanks man, he sure does. I definitely saved up for it lol. I was back and forth between a gorgeous platty jag and this one but very happy that I went with the locality

Yeah, the morphs are super cool but there's something amazing about having a very specific, insular, locale animal in your care that looks exactly the way it would in the wild. Great pick up!
