    “Breed” Association

Something I’ve been thinking about....why isn’t there an association that promotes a standard on balls like there is for dogs? They have tons of “associations” and groups that establish a standard for each breed (AKC, CKC, UKC) What are your thoughts on having something like that for balls? Just wondering

Because reptile keepers, on average, seem to be the kind of people who eschew rules and conventions and like to do their own thing. Besides, the last thing we need is for there to be LESS genetic variation....

I agree, not saying I support the idea just wondering why one never came about. I think they stifle innovation personally.

No and it would not happen as there is way to much variation within each single morphs or combos.

Besides that, can you imagine the handlers trying to lead ball pythons around the show arena...?

The reason I think it wouldn't work - what are the 'standards'. The different balls are all morphs, unless it was somehow grading morphs which is very subjective.
Dogs are basically all the same 'morph' just line bred to create the variety of types so a standard makes more sense.
    just some thoughts...
